Thermostatic Mixing Valve
📅 September 9, 2026 · Read ~2 min

The operating principle of a thermostatic mixing valve test bench comprises the following steps:

Temperature control: a built-in temperature sensor monitors the outlet temperature in real time. When the temperature deviates from the set value, the bench automatically adjusts the ratio of cold to hot water to keep the outlet temperature within the set range.

Flow regulation: the bench maintains a constant temperature by adjusting the cold and hot water inlet flows. When the temperature is too high it reduces the hot water flow; when it is too low it increases it, thereby stabilising the outlet temperature.

Automatic regulation: a metal thermostatic element inside the mixing valve uses thermal expansion and contraction to regulate the cold and hot water inlet flows automatically. As the water temperature changes, the element expands or contracts and adjusts the inlet opening to keep the temperature constant.

Modular design: to improve durability and ease of maintenance, thermostatic mixing valves usually adopt a modular design, allowing key components such as the cartridge to be replaced individually and reducing both repair cost and difficulty.

Pressure and flow monitoring: the bench also monitors water pressure and flow to confirm that the mixing valve continues to work correctly and holds a stable temperature under different pressure and flow conditions.

Through these mechanisms, the test bench can effectively test and verify the performance of thermostatic mixing valves, ensuring their stability and reliability under all service conditions.
