Shell Hydrostatic Test Bench

Application and test scope

Shell Hydrostatic Test Bench is intended for valve bodies and related pressure-containing structures. It is used to evaluate body pressure resistance and sealing using hydraulic pressure, with additional pressure tests determined by configuration. The test arrangement is selected around the sample construction, service conditions and required evaluation method.

Typical test workflow

Seal the sample connections and complete the required preparation checks, then follow the defined hydraulic pressure programme for loading, holding or cycling. Record pressure and observations with conditions confirmed separately for each test.

Selection information

For a suitable proposal, provide body material, shape and connections, test pressure, hold or cycle requirements, medium temperature and test items. Product drawings or a sample help define connections, locating tooling and test circuits.

Measurement ranges, accuracy, automation, data interfaces and acceptance criteria are defined by the selected configuration and agreed technical proposal.
